The prices given are for 2 people staying on a self-catering basis, per night, there is an extra charge for 1 extra person/child of 10€ per booking. Bookings confirmed via my website are automatically offered a 10% discount on the booking.com price they have been quoted, with further discounts available for longer stays of 14 nights or more up to a maximum of 30 nights, and “last minute” bookings, are charged at the basic rate.
A local tourist tax was introduced from 1st October 2024, I will have to collect 2€ per person per night, for a maximum of 7 nights. I then have to pay to the taxation office on your behalf. If you move from accomodation to accomodation they will all charge this fee even if you have already paid the max 7 days elsewhere.
Please also factor in that from 1st January 2026, all walking routes have to be booked in advance. Time slots are allocated to try and reduce hundreds of folk arriving all at once , and reduce the impact on the eco system. There are also varying fees to pay for each route now too. You will need to visit the following site for all of this https://simplifica.madeira.gov.pt/. From April the most popular route from Pico Areeiro to Pico Ruivio will reopen after a long closure due to the damage done in the big fire of 2024. This is going to be very popular after such a long closure so booking before arriving would be advised.
I add a 25€ service fee to cover laundry, soaps, toiletries, tea/coffee etc that I provide for every guest.

Reservations
I take bookings for a minimum of three nights through the year though seven nights minimum at Christmas, New Year and Easter. If there is a smaller space between two bookings I will consider two nights minimum with the exception of Christmas, New Year and Easter.
